UTILITIES

Water

The City of Carrollton contracts with the City of Dallas for our community’s water supply. Dallas uses surface water from six sources: the Elm Fork of the Trinity River and Lakes Ray Roberts, Lewisville, Grapevine, Ray Hubbard and Tawakoni. The Trinity River Authority (TRA) handles the wastewater treatment services. For more information on city water billing/services (Utility Customer Service) call 972-466-3120. The Water Utilities Division of the Public Works Department can be contacted at 972-466-3425.

Electric Power

Electric power has been deregulated throughout most of the state of Texas. Because of the deregulation, Carrollton consumers have the choice to choose their own retail electric providers (REPs). The transmission and distribution infrastructure is owned by Oncor Electric Delivery. To find a REP visit www.powertochoose.org.

Gas

Natural gas is provided by Atmos Energy. Contact Customer Service for further information: 1-888-286-6700 or for Commercial and Industrial Customer Service: 1-877-460-7067 or to report a gas leak contact 1-866-322-8667 (866-ECAtmos) or 9-1-1.

News
The Dallas Business Journal just ranked City of Carrollton as the Number 1 Largest North Texas Economic Development Agency based on the dollar value of deals in 2012. Carrollton tops the list with 112 deals valuing $356,721,000.
Carrollton is bound by a sense of community. It is a big city that feels like a small town, a place where neighbors know and care about each other, where family, community and church still come first and where people continue to look out for each other.
Carrollton is connected not only via rail transit and highways, but also connected in that family and friends are rooted here. The City is connected to its past; it is connected to the DFW Metroplex though its location and rail ties; and it is connected to a global community, both through its proximity to DFW Airport and its diverse community.
The key to Carrollton’s success and our triple-A bond rating is our businesslike approach to development. We guarantee 10-day or less turnaround on building permits and quick planning and zoning approvals.
Carrollton, an “inner-ring” suburb, is conveniently located 20-minutes from everything, including shipping, restaurants, nightlife, and by rail to downtown Dallas’ Arts and Entertainment districts. In addition, it is convenient and easy to do business with the city, especially from a developer or resident’s perspective.
